Setup eduroam wifi

These instructions are for Ubuntu, CentOS, Scientific Linux and SuSE linux:

  1. Download the University of Leicester root certificate (Right click on this link and choose Save Link As... or similar option) and save it to your home directory
  2. Click the networks icon on your desktop panel
  3. Choose eduroam from the list of available networks
    Choose eduroam
  4. Enter the following details:
    Anonymous identity The last part of your University email address (Students: @student.le.ac.uk, Staff: @le.ac.uk)
    CA Certficate: Browse to your home directory to find the University of Leicester certificate
    Username: University email address (Students: @student.le.ac.uk, Staff: @le.ac.uk. If you have a Friendly email address you will need to use your University IT account username followed by @le.ac.uk)
    Password: University IT account password

    Enter settings
  5. Click Connect. You should now be connected to eduroam wifi.
  6. If you were using Setup-UniOfLeic-Wifi to access these instructions, you can now remove it from your laptop/device so that it does not connect to this network accidentally.
